Fischer: For the first time, a drone delivers the ball to the field at a soccer game
SAO PAULO, May 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time in the world, the ball for a soccer game was delivered to the field by a drone at an official FIFA game. The action was conceived by the Fischer agency for its client, the Federacao Paulista de Futebol ('Paulista Soccer Federation'), and took place at the final game of the Paulista Championship, Brazil's most important soccer competition.
"The action was seen by thousands of people present at the game, and by millions of people watching open and closed TV broadcasts. The aim was to deliver the ball to the field for the kick-off, creating an innovative and entertaining event, as well as contributing to the spectacle of the soccer game," observed Jairo Soares, COO and head of media for Fischer.
