Fish Window Cleaning® Opens in Danbury

DANBURY, Conn., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Long-time Danbury resident Bob Tilzer has gone from employment to empowerment as a new business owner of Fish Window Cleaning located at 70 West Street in Danbury.  Fish Window Cleaning provides both commercial and residential window cleaning services to the greater Connecticut community.

After years of working in corporate America, Bob Tilzer found himself unemployed and without a plan.  Today, with research and effective business coaching, Bob is not only the proud owner of Fish Window Cleaning, but he is also contributing to the local economy by hiring 5 new employees.

"I'm very excited about providing a needed service in the community and finding a business model that provided training and support to help me get started," said Bob Tilzer.  

In 2009, after losing his job Bob began to evaluate his career options. He attended a seminar on "Entrepreneurship and Franchise Opportunities" presented by local residents Paska Nayden and Lena Gjonaj, franchisees of The Entrepreneur's Source.

"Through a formal 'discovery process' with Paska, I realized that there were franchise concepts out there that were very intriguing and could meet my goals as a business concept," said Bib Tilzer.  "I wanted a business that family members could be involved with; provide a valuable community service; and invest in a sound business concept with strong support from corporate as I grew.  I found that in the Fish Window Cleaning Concept," he added.

Tilzer completed four weeks of pre-training work and an eight-day training program at Fish Window Cleaning headquarters in St. Louis, Mo. before opening his business.

Tilzer, who holds a B.S. in electrical engineering, previously worked for Wang Laboratories and Sprint as a network engineer and software specialist. Joining him in his business is his wife Lisa, who also operates a catering business, and his son David Tilzer, who will be operations manager for the business.
