Flash Point Communications Rounds Out the Race Carl Edwards Campaign!

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Dec. 13, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Earlier this Summer Flash Point Communications, in conjunction with the Midwest Ford Dealers, launched the Race Carl Edwards contest, promoting the 2011 Ford Fusion.  Seeking to highlight the outstanding performance and features of the Fusion to customers in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, Flash Point and Ford called on Edwards (a native of Missouri, and a NASCAR Champion) to headline an innovative social media-based contest in which one lucky resident won the chance to "Race Carl Edwards".

Promoted through their Facebook page, website and other social media properties, the Midwest Ford Dealers offered local residents the chance to upload submissions to the official "Race Carl Edwards" website starting in August. Videos swarmed in from fans in all four states, and visitors to the site were encouraged to view and vote for their favorite videos based on enthusiasm and creativity, while learning more about the features of the new Fusion.  After significant consideration, Ford announced Scott Lehman of Hutchinson, Kansas as the winner of the competition.  Lehman faced Edwards in a 2011 Ford Fusion this past September at the Kansas Speedway.

Lehman has served as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office for over 24 years.  During this same period, he has been racing cars and proudly acquired the nickname "The Postman" by local racing aficionados.

Flash Point has now release all three videos for the campaign featuring the unexpected challenges faced by the two competitors. Videos can all be seen at www.racecarledwards.com.
