ST. LOUIS, Dec. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- FleishmanHillard has announced the appointment of Jerry Tolk as senior vice president, partner and general manager of its Atlanta office.
Tolk was most recently senior vice president in Edelman's Atlanta operation, where he led a growing eight-state healthcare practice in the southeastern U.S. He replaces Karen Kaplan, who announced her retirement earlier this year after 15 years with FleishmanHillard.

In addition to his considerable background in the healthcare industry, Tolk has done strategic consulting and communications for merger and acquisition clients, and has had various assignments involving international issues. He began his agency career in 2000 at Gavin Anderson in New York, where he led client engagements in multiple industries. He then moved to Euro RSCG in New York to head its human capital practice while also playing a key role on its healthcare team.
Since 2007, he has been with Edelman, initially at its Zeno Group subsidiary, where he led a successful turnaround as New York general manager before joining Edelman's Atlanta office in 2008. Tolk graduated from the U.S. Army College of Medicine, where he earned a degree in biology.
