400 sensors to Card Access for an occupancy sensor
200 sensors to for burst detection sensors
300 sensors to Neofect for a "smart" glove sensor used during medical rehabilitation
70 sensors for Bridgewater, Inc. to detect air flow
350 sensors to Universities for a variety of products
24 kits and 86 seat sensors to Intertek Industrial Corp. for Ambulance occupancy sensors
150 parts for Sensor Products, Inc.
"In addition to the above, we have received two orders for custom development of sensors from new clients totaling approximately $7,000. We are pleased that many of the above orders are from repeat customers and believe the consistency of these orders will continue. It is rewarding to be delivering sensors to a number of companies across a variety of industries. We will continue to concentrate on the medical, automobile and shoe industries, but having our products validated by a larger group of end users is important. The size of our orders and number of customers continues to escalate," commented Flexpoint CEO Clark Mower.
Mower continued, "Smart/intelligent sensors are widely used across different industries such as industrial, consumer electronics, medical, automobile and avionics among others. Currently, various types of smart/intelligent sensors are being used as image sensors, touch sensors, smart temperature sensors and smart pressure sensors among others. Technological advancements and the increasing demand for devices with high end features are the major factors driving the market at present. The market is likely to see high growth as the demand for consumer electronics and automobiles is expected to increase in the coming years."
According to a recent report by companiesandmarkets.com, "The smart sensor market is highly fragmented and revenues of this relatively new sector are forecast to increase by 36.3% CAGR during the period 2014 to 2020. By the end of 2020, the global smart sensor market is forecast to be worth by US$10.46 billion. There have been a number of technological breakthroughs which have driven further revenue growth in the smart sensors sector. Pressure sensors, temperature sensors, flow sensors and touch sensors are among the most widely applied sensors in a number of key industry sectors. Flow sensors demand is most widely driven by the expanding medical sectors and automotive industries. Temperature sensors are widely used in measurement, control systems and instrumentation whilst pressure sensors are used to measure the intake of manifold pressure, atmospheric pressure, vapour pressure etc. Touch sensors are also used in consumer electronics products in automotive, healthcare, aerospace, defence, industrial and commercial markets."
