WAVERLY, Fla., Feb. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Florida Citrus Hall of Fame will celebrate its 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee Celebration on March 2-3, with support from HESCO, Florida's just-in-time operating supplies procurement and provisioning cooperative. Festivities will include the Induction Luncheon Ceremonies in Lakeland on March 2nd at Florida Southern College. Inductees this year are Robert J. "Bob" Barben, of Avon Park, Dr. W. Bernard "Bernie" Lester, of Lakeland, and Frank M. Hunt II, of Lake Wales.  Mr. Hunt is a founding member of HESCO.

Festivities include a BBQ on Friday evening and a luncheon honoring women in the industry. The culmination of the weekend is the Golden Jubilee Gala on Saturday evening, March 3rd, at the Florida Citrus Building in Winter Haven, where all living members of the Citrus Hall of Fame will be honored.  

In addition, a video will be shown entitled "From Barrels to Bins," showcasing citrus industry progress through the years and made possible through a grant from HESCO and MacroPlastics. The grant also supported the work of archivists to digitize, protect and store the valuable remnants of the citrus industry in Florida. "We're thrilled to support the important work of the Citrus Hall of Fame to honor our pioneers as well as to ensure that their contributions are preserved," said Gap Kovach, HESCO CEO.  

Tickets to the Gala are $50 for general admission, $100 for reserved seating, and $1,000 for a Sponsorship Table.
