RIMINI, Italy and ROTHERHAM, England, July 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Since launching a new UK online store and product line earlier this year, the leading Italian designer staircase company, Fontanot, has been enjoying unprecedented levels of success. Having become a household name in Italy, the brand is now taking the UK by storm, with customers captivated by a long-established reputation for quality, matched by classic, sleek Italian design.
Capitalising on their successful appearance at last year's Grand Designs Live event, Fontanot has focused efforts on growing the brand in Europe and improving its online experience for UK customers. The new UK website utilises the flexible ecommerce processes of the Magento platform, creating a more intuitive buying experience for the customer. Showcasing the extensive range of wooden, steel, outdoor and space-saver stairs, the site also features an innovative staircase planner, allowing customers to design their own bespoke kit staircases.
The new Techne range has been garnering particular interest in Fontanot's UK showroom in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Mark Chapman, Fontanot's UK and Ireland Sales Manager, commented: "Interest in the Techne range has exceeded our expectations. Our customers are keen to buy into the artisan history of the brand, whilst feeling safe in the knowledge they are purchasing a robust, conceptually modern product."
Techne is made from glass fibre reinforced technopolymer, a material not previously used in the staircase industry, which ensures the product is lightweight but extremely durable. Available in green, white and red (reflecting the colours of the Italian flag), the spiral staircases benefit from a leading-edge process where colouring is added directly into the technopolymer mixture, rendering the material resistant to UV rays, enabling indoor or outdoor installation.
The company will be exhibiting at the 2013 Grand Designs Live event, 4-6th October at the Birmingham NEC.
Fontanot is a leading Italian company with a passion for creating solid, functional staircase products combined with stylish contemporary designs. The company is proud of its established heritage, having amassed over 40 years of experience in the industry and received commissions to install statement staircases for clients across the world.
In the 1970s, the company set out on a journey to transform the staircase by combining functionality and aesthetics, with the aim of revolutionising the living space. The turning point came when Enzo Fontanot, the current president, joined the company, giving life to Albini & Fontanot, the first company to transform a craftsman's way of making spiral and open staircases into an industrial process. The company patented the Fontanot "2:Easy" tread system, a pioneering staircase concept. Thanks to the innovative ergonomic shape of the alternate treads, they are more comfortable and safer than any other indoor spiral staircase.
Fontanot offers a vast array of products renowned for their quality, durability and ease of assembly, all informed by decades of commercial success.
