FoodMinds Hires Former Campbell Soup Executive Juli Mandel Sloves as Senior Vice President; and Julie Alessi, RD, as Senior Account Executive
CHICAGO, Nov. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- FoodMinds, a food and nutrition consulting and communications agency, continues to expand its roster of seasoned nutrition, health and wellness professionals with two new appointments: Juli Mandel Sloves joins as a senior vice president, and Julie Alessi, RD, joins as a senior account executive.
Sloves, a 12-year veteran of Campbell Soup Company with more than 20 years of communications expertise, was most recently senior manager, Global R&D Communications at Campbell. Prior to that, she led Nutrition & Wellness Communications for Campbell North America brands. At FoodMinds, she will lead strategy and oversight of teams for several accounts, and will collaborate closely with FoodMinds partners and senior executives including Chief Science Officer Robert C. Post, Ph.D., MEd., MSc.; Erin DeSimone, MS, RD, and Michelle Kijek, both managing directors. Sloves will work from her office in Voorhees, N.J.
Alessi joins the Chicago office as a senior account executive, having most recently worked at Weber Shandwick since beginning her career in 2010. At FoodMinds, she will utilize her nutrition communications background and media relations skills for several clients, and will help to co-manage the FoodMinds internship program. Alessi is a member of the Chicago Dietetic Association and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
These two new additions follow on the heels of FoodMinds' announcement last month that former USDA executive Dr. Post came on board as the agency's first chief science officer.
The quickly growing FoodMinds team now has 24 employees and more than 40 experts across the U.S. and globally, including nine registered dietitians on staff – all of whom specialize in harnessing science, communications and nutrition affairs to tell a better story for their clients.
