Foods from Chile to Cater Trending Twitter Party
NEW YORK, May 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The challenge for the Foods from Chile campaign and its digital agency Vivaldi Fifth Season, is not to get people to eat more Chilean foods—since 7 million people eat fresh Chilean salmon every day; the U.S. enjoys 1 billion pounds of fresh fruit each year; and the list continues with nuts, wine, olive oil, and more at foodsfromchile.org. The goal is to make sure they know the good food on their plate is likely from Chile. The answer was: Let's have a party and invite all the right people. The twist is the venue: Twitter. VIPs: Food Bloggers with over 25,000 combined online followers. Invited guests: Everyone.
To create excitement, there is a 2-week buildup to the party, which began on April 22nd with the #CookChilean Food Blogger Challenge. Five renowned food bloggers posted blogs about the mysterious food crates they received, full of fresh mussels, salmon, trout, olive oil, blueberry juice, prunes, raisins, grapes, plums, and blueberries—all from Chile. Recipe suggestions were collected through April 25th from food fans everywhere. Blogger participants chose the most inspiring recipe ideas and the winners (each receiving a Foods from Chile gift bag) will be revealed at the #CookChilean Twitter Party on May 7th at 7:00 pm EDT.
The party will be the celebratory culmination of the fortnight frenzy of recipe generation. Influential food bloggers and healthful food fans from across the country will come together around what they love—Mediterranean cooking, fresh ingredients, and meeting new people with common interests.
