For the First Time Ever: Precertification Courses Offered at 2013 iaedp Symposium
PEKIN, Ill., Feb. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) is proud to announce the first-time offering of professional certification courses at its annual Symposium 2013, March 20-21, immediately before the start of the 27th annual Symposium program. The program offers professionals new to the field or who do not specialize in eating disorders a comprehensive introduction to eating disorders as well as professionals who specialize in eating disorders and want to be recognized as a certified professional, comprehensive eating disorder training courses in a two-day, 12-hour track.
There will be four three-hour courses presented by respected eating disorder professionals who sit on iaedp's Advisory Board, including: Kimberli McCallum, MD; Holly Finlay, MA, LPCC; Cathy Reto, PhD; Vicki Berkus, MD, PhD, CEDS; and Ralph Carson, PhD, RD. Course titles are: Overview of Eating Disorders, Treatment Modalities, Nutritional Aspects of Eating Disorders and Medical Aspects of Eating Disorders.
"By offering the precertification courses at our annual Symposium, professionals are able to receive first-hand instruction in eating disorder treatments in a time efficient manner," said Bonnie Harken, Managing Director at the iaedp Foundation. "Our Advisory Board is made up of respected, qualified eating disorder professionals who can aid those new to the field and receive the very best in training."
All other prerequisites for certification regarding education, experience, supervision and successful completion of a written examination apply. The precertification courses are offered as a separate track for $200 or combined with a Symposium 2013 registration for an additional $100.
