NEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Forbes magazine has recognized Convene (www.convene.com) as one of the most promising companies in America among high-growth, privately-held companies with annual revenue under $250 million.
Forbes, one of the largest and most influential business publications in the United States, released the third annual listing late last week
"Rocketship growth is not uncommon on our list of America's Most Promising Companies… In fact, it's what we look for. But to watch a management team crack open a ripe new market and hang on for dear life as top line explodes is still good fun," said J.J. Colao, Forbes reporter, writing in Forbes about what it takes to make the list.
In 2013, Convene was named by Crain's New York Business as the 'fastest growing company based in New York City' partially on the basis of its 'rocketship-like' 3,463 percent rise in sales from 2009 to 2012. The company is also creating a new market by introducing a network of conference centers and integrated services, based on its human-centered design process, for off-site business meetings.
Convene, the nation's fastest growing conference center network, currently operates four conference centers in Manhattan, having just opened its first ground level location at 101 Park Ave. near Grand Central Terminal. The company will be opening its first conference center outside of New York City. Its 1800 Tysons Boulevard conference center in Tysons Corner, Virginia marks the beginning of Convene's national expansion when it opens next month. The location is designed to serve the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region.
"We are truly honored to be recognized by Forbes as one of the most promising companies in America," said Ryan Simonetti, chief executive officer and co-founder of Convene. "This recognition comes as a result of a tremendous team effort on the part of our talented and dedicated staff, our clients, capital partners, vendors and landlords – all of whom have helped us in significant ways to achieve a level of excellence that motivates us every day."
Convene (www.convene.com) is the leading developer, owner and operator of urban day conference centers in the United States. Its full suite of business services includes meeting and collaboration space rental, "room service building catering," audiovisual and conference planning support. Offered through various lease, joint venture and management arrangements, the company partners with landlords and tenants to enhance the quality of commercial office buildings and improve the workplace experience through better service and space design.
