Former Professional Linebacker Rehabilitates Disabled Veterans and Athletes with the Empowerment Pledge Campaign
David Vobora, Founder/President of the Adaptive Training Foundation (ATF) launches campaign to support the rehabilitation of wounded warriors and disabled athletes.
DALLAS, March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- David Vobora, Founder/President of the Adaptive Training Foundation announced his Empowerment Pledge Campaign Wednesday as a way to allow businesses and community members to support the rehabilitation of wounded warriors and disabled athletes. The campaign is focused on The Empowerment Pledge, where donors promise to support rehabilitation efforts with $22 per month. ATF is credited with training wounded warriors like quadruple amputee SSG Travis Mills and USMC veteran Jacob Schick, who recently appeared in the film "American Sniper."
Money donated will be used to RESTORE the lives of participants through ATF's REDEFINE program. Sponsored veterans and athletes are enrolled in 9 weeks of intensive training shown to increase measurables in the gym and quality of everyday life. Athletes and warriors are equipped with sustainable, long-term self-confidence and the attitude required to be positive role models and symbols of inspiration for their communities. "We ask our applicants what they are too scared to compete in and what is holding them back. We challenge them to dream without boundaries and then we help pave the way for them to achieve!" says Vobora.
The Adaptive Training foundation plans to empower 50 athletes in 2015. While they train a significant number of disabled athletes, the nonprofit places a special emphasis on service members returning from war. "There is a common ground between athletes and soldiers that really facilitates a comfortable environment for them to open up and empower themselves," stated Vobora.
