Company finishes in the top five of every category surveyed by Michigan Association of Independent Agents for Michigan AGENT Magazine

FREMONT, Mich., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the results of the 10^th Biennial Michigan Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) 2010 Agent Survey of Companies, Fremont Insurance remains one of the highest rated insurance companies among independent agents across the state.  Fremont Insurance placed third overall in the survey and finished in the top five in all 11 categories of the survey.  Fremont tied for first in the accounting category and for second in the Personal Lines Service and Management categories.  The company also placed second in Underwriting Attitude and Field Personnel Service.

The MAIA is dedicated to serving the needs of Michigan independent insurance agents and consumers by promoting a healthy and competitive insurance and business environment.  The MAIA Agent Survey of Companies takes place every two years and provides agents with the opportunity to rate their carriers on a variety of issues such as competitiveness, service, underwriting, company management and compensation.  Agents rate companies from 1 (poor) to 5 (Outstanding) in each category.  Fremont Insurance received a 4.11 cumulative rating.  According to the MAIA, more than 780 surveys were completed for more than 27 companies, but only the 13 companies that received more than 20 responses are included in the published results.

The MAIA Survey of Companies began in 1992.  Although the survey is not considered scientific (not all Michigan companies and agents are included in the results) it does provide an important and useful comparison of Michigan companies, highlighting areas where a company excels, and offering suggestions for improvements.  Fremont Insurance has continued to climb in the MAIA's rankings each year that the results have been released.  In 2004, Fremont ranked 15^th on the list.  In 2006 the Company jumped to 7^th place.  Two years later, in 2008, Fremont had moved up to 4^th place.
