FreshDirect Launches KidPower™ - A New Line of Freshly Prepared, All-Natural Kids Meals

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., Feb. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FreshDirect, New York City's premier online grocer, today announced the launch of KidPower™, a unique line of kids meals, designed by Chef Tina Bourbeau, and reviewed and approved by FreshDirect's nutritionist, registered dietitian Maggie Moon.
KidPower meals are made with all-natural and wholesome ingredients, and are made fresh daily at FreshDirect. Each meal contains a full serving of vegetables, and the range of meals offer good nutrition for growing kids, from meals that are lean, to calcium-rich, to high fiber, to being excellent sources of antioxidant vitamins A and C. The line features a diverse array of delicious and nutritious meals, from Chicken Teriyaki with Whole Wheat Noodles, to Turkey Sweet & Sour Meatballs, and Falafel & Hummus.
To celebrate the launch of this new line and support children's art education and creativity, FreshDirect and The Children's Museum of the Arts (CMA) will launch the FreshArt initiative to encourage students in grades three through six to create works of art that express the positive experience of sharing a family meal.
This initiative will be launched in the FreshDirect delivery areas in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Three pieces of artwork – one from each of the participating states – will be selected to be featured large-scale on the sides of select FreshDirect delivery trucks. Also, a $1,500 monetary award will be donated to the schools designated by the parents or guardians of the creators of the selected art. The designated schools must be located in FreshDirect's delivery areas. A number of art entries will be exhibited in The Children's Museum of the Arts in Fall 2011.
