From the Extraordinary to the Ordinary U.S. Treasury Dept. Seized Real Estate Auctions have it all!
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Department of the Treasury has designated CWS Asset Management and Sales (CWSAMS) as the prime contractor responsible for the maintenance and sale of seized and forfeited Real Property. Under this contract, Real Property located throughout the US and Puerto Rico is offered at live and online auctions. Properties on the auction block include: Single Family Homes, Multi-Family Residences, Commercial and Residential Land, Commercial Buildings, Warehouses and more! A complete list of upcoming auctions is available at www.treas.gov/auctions/treasury/rp.
Properties offered at auction have been seized and forfeited due to violations of federal laws enforced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Participating enforcement agencies include: IRS-Criminal Investigations Division, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the U.S. Secret Service. Approximately 10 to 12 Real Estate auctions are conducted each month and are held on-site or online.
In addition to Real Property Auctions, CWS Marketing Group in conjunction with URS Federal Services also conducts General Property Auctions for the U.S. Treasury Dept. These auctions are live auctions held at URS's Sales Centers located in Pompano Beach, FL; Dayton, NJ and Riverside, CA. Online and Specialty auctions are also conducted as needed. General Property includes anything seized by the US Treasury due to criminal violations. Some items offered at auction include: Cars, Boats, Aircraft, Motorcycles, Electronics, Jewelry, Household Items, Clothing, Artwork, Equipment, Toys, Tools, Coins, Gold & Silver and much more!
General Property sold at the U.S. Treasury auctions comes from serious offenses such as drug smuggling, money laundering, credit card fraud, child pornography, etc. As with the Real Property sales, proceeds from the General Property Auctions are deposited in the U.S. Treasury Asset Forfeiture Fund which helps to support law enforcement efforts and provides restitution to victims of the crimes committed.
Why attend a US Treasury Public Auction? They are free to attend and open to the public. No buyer's premiums are charged. You'll receive a free and clear title for real estate purchases. Most importantly, the proceeds from your purchase go to help law enforcement efforts to keep us all safe!
