Frost & Sullivan Applauds Haufe for Leveraging Cloud to Deliver an End-to-end Talent Management Solution
Haufe's innovative and responsive design technology gives it a significant competitive advantage in mobile computing applications
LONDON, March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the cloud-based talent management solution market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Haufe with the 2014 European Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation Leadership. The most innovative component of the umantis Talent Management solution is that it has been designed from the bottom-up approach, instead of the usual top-down.
Competing solutions focus on the needs of the employer, with responsibilities being delegated to the lower levels of management. These solutions provide a command-and-control overview for the top-level management to facilitate business operations. In contrast, umantis Talent Management solution is designed from the perspective of employees, providing a user-friendly and interactive user interface hence making it more productive.
While competitors offer separate solutions for employee management, umantis Talent Management delivers a collaborative platform with three modules to recruit (umantis Recruit), evaluate, manage and increase performance (umantis Perform), and develop competences of employees and succession planning (umantis Develop). The entire suite can be hosted in a private cloud or in on-premise servers as a software as a service (SaaS) solution. This feature creates the much-needed flexibility in operation, and cost efficiency to the enterprises on expenses for computing resources. The whole solution can be accessed and operated through any web browser. In addition, it can be easily integrated with the existing software architecture of the organization.
"Furthermore, unlike its competitors, who have developed their solutions by integrating their modules with components designed by third-party developers, Haufe has developed the umantis Talent Management solution all by itself," said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Debarun Guha Thakurta. "The solution also includes an internal networking platform that facilitates interaction among employees, thereby increasing employee engagement."
Taking into consideration the proliferation of mobile computing devices, the umantis Talent Management solution uses responsive-design technology based on HyperText Markup Language 5 (HTML5) and Cascading Style Sheets 3 (CSS3) to enable the entire solution to adapt to various display resolutions to be compatible with any device running any operating system. Competing solutions usually depend on mobile applications, which are designed for particular operating systems and devices, limiting the use of the solution in new platforms.
As the umantis Talent Management solution follows the standard browser technology, it does not require additional plug-ins to be installed for the browser. HTML5 and Highcharts have been leveraged to form data-rich dashboards that are optimized for mobile devices. The umantis Talent Management solution also uses jQuery and Knockout.js to deliver complex data visualizations to enrich the user interface.
The 360-degree feedback and evaluation features delivered by the umantis Talent Management solution enable monitoring of employee performance. The collaborative performance review technique helps analyse the goals set, goals achieved, and goals yet to be achieved across the enterprise.
"Importantly, the solution offers rapid return on investment by helping enterprises to quickly recruit high-quality human resources in less time than required by conventional recruitment procedures," noted Guha Thakurta. "Its performance evaluation solution efficiently identifies, evaluates and retains the most efficient resources at an early stage, thereby aiding in the planning process of future training and development programs."
Haufe is expanding its presence throughout Europe and beyond. With the registration of Haufe Inc. in the US and opening of an office in San Francisco in January 2014, the umantis Talent Solution is now also available to companies in the US Market. The success of this partnership has been evidenced by the record sales of 200 percent in the first half of 2013. Additionally, the company has been making huge investments in R&D to provide the best-in-class solutions. Moreover, plans for investment in sales and marketing are being developed to enhance its global footprint.
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed an innovative element in a product by leveraging best in-class technologies. The award recognizes the value added features/benefits of the product and the increased ROI it offers to customers, which in turn increases customer acquisition and overall market penetration potential.
Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.
