NEW YORK, March 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- At present, Chinese pesticide industry experiences a continuation of overcapacity and oversupply. Focusing on exports is an effective method to ease the excessive supply in the domestic market. However, the pesticide export conditions in 201 5 signified that there was insufficient external demand. Chinese Fungicide exports performed outstandingly despite sluggish conditions. According to data from China Customs, the export volume and export value of fungicides kept rsing in 2015, up by 10.2% YoY and 5.3% YoY, standing at 83,000 tonnes and USD430 million.
In addition, China imported 23,000 tonnes of fungicides, down by 22.1% YoY. The value of the imports was USD280 million, down by 12.7% YoY. This indicated that along with the fungicide R&D and improving technologies, fungicide accounts for increasing proportion in Chinese pesticide industry. Therefore, China will alleviate the dependence on imported fungicide products.
CCM will make analysis on the exports of key fungicides in 2015, such as chlorothalonil and mancozeb.

At present, the competition among generic pesticides is intensifying, so it is the best option for China to jump out of the trap of generic pesticides homogenization by developing novel pesticides. Chinese novel pesticides have some common problems, such as the small number of varieties, poor marketing and substandard profits. A number of factors have inhibited the development of novel pesticides, including inadequate investment into R&D and the high time and cost expenditure required for registrations.
The new pesticide Y13149, which was independently developed by Central China Normal University, has been transferred to Beijing Yoloo for industrial production. Beijing Yoloo will register the Y13149 formulation and technical in 2016, and the products are expected to hit the market in late 2017 or early 2018.Beijing Yoloo plans to cooperate with a capable domestic enterprise to jointly market Y13149 products in the future.
A number of pesticide enterprises have successfully obtained registration certificates for pyraclostrobin, among which the single pyraclostrobin formulation and mixed pyraclostrobin formulation hit the market in 2015. Some enterprises are prioritizing the production of pyraclostrobin in 2016 and in the next few years. This shows that China's pyraclostrobin market will have fierce competition in 2016.
On Jan. 29., 2016, Limin Chemical published its 2015 performance amendment. It's predicted that its net profit would increase significantly compared with last year.
In Jan., 2016, Guangxin Agrochemical planned to set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in Shanghai to operate its import and export business. The subsidiary is expected to integrate Guangxin Agrochemical's import & export business and will probably be responsible for the general management of import & export business.
Lanfeng Biochemical has suffered losses in two consecutive years. If the company continues to incur losses in 2016, it may be delisted, according to the Chinese regulations on delisting. Therefore, 2016 is a very crucial year for Lanfeng Biochemical.
In 2015, owning to sharp fall in the export price, China's exports of azoxystrobin technical recorded YoY growth in 104.92% in volume, according to data from China Customs and analysis from CCM.
In 2015, a total of 133 fungicide technical (including 54 active ingredients) were registered in China. Among them, 12 active ingredients of fungicide technical were registered three times+.
In Jan. 2016, 13 new registration certifications of fungicide technical (including 11 active ingredients) were approved in China, according to the ICAMA (new registrations did not include renewal of old registrations).
This year, the MOA will forcibly remove the outdated pesticides, especially the pesticides or products with high risks, small market demand, little prevention and treatment efficacy, and no application value, according to the Key Tasks for Crop Farming in 2016 issued by the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China.
