NEW YORK, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Apparel manufacturer Garan Incorporated, a Berkshire Hathaway company, has retained CooperKatz & Company, Inc. as its public relations agency of record to promote Garanimals®, its iconic line of children's clothing, shoes and toys sold exclusively at Walmart.

First launched in 1972, Garanimals revolutionized children's clothing with its innovative mix-and-match tagging system for young children. By pairing brightly colored tops and bottoms with their own recognizable characters, Garanimals makes it possible for parents to assemble great-looking and affordable matching outfits. In August 2009, Garanimals expanded its brand to include footwear and toys, and will be introducing a collection of books as well as plush and accessories later this year.
