PRINCETON, N.J., Aug. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Publicis Groupe customer engagement agency Rosetta announced today that it has hired Gary Schechner as Partner, Head of Marketing. He will be based in the agency's Los Angeles office and report directly to Chief Strategy Officer Scott Sorokin.

Schechner joins Rosetta from ampm (a British Petroleum/ARCO brand), where he headed up all Advertising, Marketing and Social Media. In that role, he led a team of creative and media specialists for BP's $1.3B brand of more than 950 convenience stores in North America. His team launched a breakthrough mobile app, significantly grew customer engagement on social media, and developed and executed the company's mobile marketing strategy. Prior to that, he served as a Marketing Consultant for Chevron/Texaco, where he managed $18 million in creative development and media for the Texaco Havoline and Chevron TECHRON Concentrate Plus consumer brands.
Schechner will lead a team of marketing, communications, PR, content strategy, social media, events, research, production and project management specialists to drive demand generation; execute effective and measurable brand, vertical and partnership marketing programs; and strengthen and simplify the agency's brand positioning.
Schechner has a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing/Advertising from Arizona State University.
