General Carrol 'Howie' Chandler Joins Pratt & Whitney
EAST HARTFORD, Conn., Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Retired United States Air Force four-star General Carrol 'Howie' Chandler recently joined Pratt & Whitney as vice president, Business Development and Aftermarket Services for the company's Military Engines business. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.
In his new role, Chandler has overall responsibility for international and domestic business for military products and services and interfacing with governments and industries around the world. Additionally, he will oversee the growth of the Military Aftermarket Services business through the operational shops and Air Force bases where Military Aftermarket Services performs maintenance.
Chandler served 37 years in the Air Force performing tours at Pacific Air Forces, the Pentagon, U.S. Pacific Command, U.S. Military Training Mission in Saudi Arabia and Allied Air Forces Southern Europe. He most recently served as vice chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force. As vice chief, Chandler presided over the air staff and served as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Requirements Oversight Council and Deputy Advisory Working Group. He supported the organizing, training and equipping of 680,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian forces serving in the United States and overseas. He is a command pilot with more than 3,900 flying hours in T-38, F-15 and F-16 aircraft.
