WOODBURY, N.Y., Sept. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Janam Technologies LLC, a leading provider of rugged mobile computers that scan barcodes and communicate wirelessly, today announced that its XT2 Rugged Touch Computer beat 12 competitive devices from eight mobile computing companies to win a multi-year supply agreement with GENILINK, a subsidiary of SGS, the world's leading automotive inspection, certification and testing company.
GENILINK will deploy more than 3,000 XT2 rugged mobile computers from Janam to improve its vehicle inspection processes. Playing a critical role in road safety and environmental protection, the company sought a rugged mobile solution that could provide maximum uptime, reliability and accuracy.
- GENILINK, a subsidiary of the SGS Group's transportation division, delivers hardware and software solutions to control centers in France and Africa. GENILINK is also a solution integrator for end-of-leasing activities, IT infrastructure audit and radar control.
- With more than seven million vehicle tests conducted annually, GENILINK selected Janam's XT2 to help optimize workflows and ultimately reduce the time spent on each inspection.
- Setting a higher standard for business efficiency, GENILINK transitioned from a Microsoft® Windows® CE-based mobile computer to the Android™-powered XT2. As the only device in its class to run Android 5 Lollipop operating system, the XT2 is equipped with the latest technological advancements to help mobile workers from GENILINK perform their jobs more effectively and efficiently.
- The XT2 easily survives 5 foot/1.5 meter drops to concrete on all sides across a wide temperature range per MIL-STD 810G standards and is sealed to IP67 standards to provide protection from dust and survive immersion in up to 3 feet of water.
