Georgia Chapter of the NFL Alumni Association Charity Golf Classic
NFL Alumni Players fundraise with friends to help children in need
ATLANTA, Sept. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Georgia Chapter of the National Football League (NFL) Alumni Association (Georgia.NFLAlumni.org) hosts their annual Charity Golf Classic on Monday, October 12, 2015, at the Polo Golf & Country Club, 6300 Polo Drive in Cumming, Georgia.
The National Football League (NFL) Alumni Georgia Chapter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit service organization composed of former professional football players, coaches, cheerleaders, administrators and Associate Members who work voluntarily on behalf of youth and charity. It was formed as an outgrowth of philanthropic and civic-minded impulses of men who performed at the highest level of the nation's most popular spectator sport and used that experience as a springboard to success in later life.
The Georgia Chapter of the NFL Alumni Association focuses its fundraising efforts on those who need it most, children's charities helping with Nutrition, Fitness, Education and Healthcare – and Caring for Our Own.
This golf tournament will pair golfers with a NFL Alumni professional in each golf foursome. Some of the Team Captains will be: Kordell Stewart (Pittsburgh Steelers), Steve Barkowski (Atlanta Falcons), Randy Cross (San Francisco 49ers), Tommy Nobis (Atlanta Falcons), Jeff Yeates (Atlanta Falcons), Jeff Bostic (Washington Redskins), William Andrews (Atlanta Falcons), Sol Brannan (Washington Redskins), Todd Burks (Chicago Bears) and Ed "Too Tall" Jones (Dallas Cowboys).
Also supporting the Georgia Chapter of the NFL Alumni Association by golfing this day will be actor Kenyon Glover, comedian Professor Ray Grant, National Hockey League (NHL) Hall of Famer Dan Bouchard, Otis Nixon (Atlanta Braves), Alejandro Pena (Atlanta Braves) and Major League Baseball (MLB) Hall of Famer Phil Niekro.
