CHESAPEAKE, Va., May 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Many have wanted and asked for a book about the life and art of the great Clayton Sumner Price. To fulfill this longing, Price's niece, Frances Price Cook, finally releases a full account of the artist's life in the biography The Life and Art of C.S. Price.
This is the story of an artist and his life. C.S. Price was trained by his mother to be artistic and trained by his father to be a real-life cowboy. He was a sincere friend to all. It was in his solitude that he found his life in his art.
He dedicated his life to being an artist. He was a deeply spiritual man and humble, searching for the deeper meanings in life he sometimes referred to as "the one big thing." This is the first-ever published full-length book about this amazing Northwest artist.
This book includes many rarely viewed drawings donated to the Portland Art Museum. Written and carefully crafted by C.S. Price's niece and co-author Patrick Leach, this biography tells the story as only a family member could.
The book is available for purchase at www.amazon.com.
About the Author
Frances Price Cook's first experience as an author was when she wrote, with her uncle Maurice, The Pioneering Price Family in 1965. A few years later, she was asked by a well-known owner of his uncle's art who had donated some of her works to the Portland Art Museum if she would write a biography of her uncle's art. It was in the late seventies that she began the journey of collecting information and research to compile the biography about her uncle's life and art.
Five years ago, at the age of 93, with the help of many others, she picked up where she left off and now, 30-plus years later, the biography known as The Life and Art of C.S. Price is published and ready to grace the bookshelves, coffee tables, and libraries for all those who love and want to study artists and the art world.
