Giant Food Customers and Associates Donate Over $200,000 for Earthquake Relief in Haiti
LANDOVER, Md., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- In a two week period following the devastating Haiti earthquake, Giant Food of Landover, Md. customers and associates raised $201,186, which was donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund for Haiti earthquake relief efforts. Giant Food coordinated the fundraising drive at all of its stores between January 16 and January 31.
"Due to the extent of the catastrophe, we felt we needed to do as much as we could to help with the relief efforts by giving our associates and customers an easy way to contribute to earthquake victims," said Robin Michel, president of Giant Food of Landover, Md.
