EVESHAM, England, July 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Everyclick, which has raised £2.7 million for charities throughout the United Kingdom, today announced it has selected Kognitio Cloud to help generate greater contributions to its member charities by maximizing online sales at some of the country's most prominent retailers.
Everyclick is the fundraising technology company behind "Give as you Live," which provides a way for online shoppers to raise money for charity. Connected to all 220,000 UK registered charities, Give as you Live can unlock the "hidden millions" for deserving UK causes by taking advantage of an existing revenue model and redirecting these funds to charity. Retailers who take part in "Give as you Live" agree to donate a percentage of their online sales to charities of the shopper's choice at no additional cost to the consumer. Companies like John Lewis, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Ted Baker London, iTunes, The Body Shop and more have signed up; money raised has gone to national charities like Macmillian, Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Starlight Children's Foundation, as well as thousands of locally-based charities.
"We want to better understand the shoppers who use Give as you Live and their preferences," said Polly Gowers, OBE, Everyclick chief executive officer. "By doing so, we can optimise our marketing campaigns and the kind of goods they're seeking. This helps drive additional funds to UK charities in the process." Gowers noted that Kognitio gives her company the analytical capability previously available only to much larger firms, aligning costs to operational expense with Kognitio Cloud. "We can now implement an analytical infrastructure that benefits both our retail partners and the people who purchase goods and services through our site every day."
Kognitio Cloud, a ready-to-use analytical platform, harnesses the power and flexibility of the Kognitio Analytical Platform. It gives companies the ability to access and analyze detailed business data without the need to design, build, deploy and run their own business intelligence system. Robust analytical capability with minimal administration is readily available at a price they can afford, without the capital expense related to IT resources and systems. Organizations have leveraged Kognitio Cloud to gain fast and detailed analysis of data on their business terms and within their operating expense budget.
"Growing, data-centric companies like Everyclick increasingly require a deeper understanding of their customers, and while they may not have the immense data sets of larger corporations, they require the immediate analysis that Kognitio Cloud provides," said Steve Millard, chief executive and president of Kognitio. "It's not the size of the data that matters, it's what you do with it; Kognitio Cloud enables firms to gain the insight they need to maximize their business. In Everyclick's case, that means driving additional business that results in greater charitable contributions; for other companies, it may result in gaining and maintaining a competitive business advantage."
Kognitio is driving the convergence of Big Data, in-memory analytics and cloud computing. Having delivered the first in-memory analytical platform in 1989, it was designed from the ground up to provide the highest amount of scalable compute power to allow rapid execution of complex analytical queries without the administrative overhead of manipulating data. Kognitio software runs on industry-standard x86 servers, or as an appliance, or in Kognitio Cloud, a ready-to-use analytical platform. Kognitio Cloud is a secure, private or public cloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), leveraging the cloud computing model to make the Kognitio Analytical Platform available on a subscription basis. Clients span industries, including market research, consumer packaged goods, retail, telecommunications, financial services, insurance, gaming, media and utilities.
