DUBLIN, October 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Global Automotive Parental Control System Market 2016-2020" report to their offering.
The report forecasts the global automotive parental control system (PCS) market to grow at a CAGR of 11.12% during the period 2016-2020.
PCS is expected to become a part of AVT and connected car technologies which will be a key trend for market growth. PCS is basically a suite of functions which can be performed better and in a more complete manner by AVT and connected car technologies (CCT) when used in conjunction with each other. Hence, it is expected that PCS may cease to exist as a standalone offering or a component of automotive device assistants (ADA) like My Ford Touch.
According to the report, parental concern over rising incidences of motor vehicle crashes involving teenagers is considered to be the primary driver for PCS sales. Teenagers are among the most vulnerable of all age groups with respect to serious car crashes due to the combination of inexperienced and youthful enthusiasm behind the wheel. Lethal car collisions are the main source of death among Americans with ages 15 to 20. Showing off for friends, speeding for "thrill," and street racing are some of the other common reasons behind teen deaths, particularly in the US, Japan, Australia, and China.
Further, the report states that straining family relations are expected to be one of the primary reasons behind rejection of PCS which will be a challenge for the market. Even though PCS does empower parents to keep track of the teenager's movements, it is however expected that such a move would likely strain relations within the family. Teenagers are known to react in many unexpected ways when cornered. The teenagers, however, adult-like they may seem to act or be, are still kids and are more disposed toward impulsive behavior than actual adults. Hence, to such impressionable and immature minds, being tracked 24x7 might trigger a rebel response.
