Global Convergence, Inc. (GCI) Announces Strategy for Change in Its Interlink Communication Systems (ICS) Business for 2011
New Strategy Coincides with Recent Move Bringing New EVP & GM, Joe Serra Onboard to Spearhead Business Growth Initiatives
OLDSMAR, Fla., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Convergence, Inc. (GCI) a leading worldwide supplier of internetworking products, logistics and services support, today announced a strategic operational change for ICS, its Value Added Distribution business under the new leadership of recently appointed executive vice president and general manager, Joe Serra.
The operational changes include investments that Global Convergence has made in its field sales resources, service support resources, systems, and infrastructure since the merger of Network Dynamics, Inc., with Interlink Communication Systems and Netlink Technologies in early 2009, and which have helped its customers identify products, applications and service support opportunities that impact the full breadth of GCI subsidiaries, continuing to fuel its growth.
"Global Convergence continues to enjoy unprecedented growth and market acceptance since the merger," states Jim Bradshaw, president and CEO of Global Convergence. "Our VARs, vendor partners and customers continue to embrace our vision of offering value added distribution supported by a comprehensive suite of international service and support programs," he added.
"We've helped our VAR and vendor partners uncover some early – and significant – opportunities through our investments and by working closely with them in this challenging economic environment," said Joe Serra. "For example, our sell with strategy leverages our business relationships and the specialized knowledge base of Interlink inside sales along with our field sales expertise in the delivery of professional services including staging, implementation, remedial maintenance and logistics at a local, regional, national or international level to win more deals," Serra continued.
The GCI approach has focused on providing additional ICS field sales resources that are closely aligned with its own inside sales teams. Its "sell with" strategy provides a more focused market approach in support of its vendor partner products, GCI Services, and ICS VAR partner resources to better solve the complex needs of today's customers.
GCI has also renewed its emphasis on expanding its line of products offered for distribution by naming Al Higgins as executive vice president of Business Development.
"Having the right vendors and product mix is the second critical component to the success of our strategy shift," says Bradshaw. "Al brings to GCI industry knowledge, experience, and the proven ability to assess and onboard the products needed to expand our markets and bring value to GCI and its stakeholders. Collectively, the changes and investments we are making signal our commitment to the value added distribution business as we position them for rapid growth and continued success in 2011 and beyond," he added.
