LONDON, Jan. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The world's largest EdTech startup competition reaches its peak this week as 15 finalists have been selected for review by a panel of esteemed expert judges. After reviewing hundreds of applicants from dozens of countries, the Global EdTech Startup Awards Finals will be held January 24, 2017 in London. One winner and two runners-up will be announced.
On the eve of BETT, one of the world's leading education technology events, the Global EdTech Startup Awards (GESAwards) single out the most promising education technology companies and recognize them for the innovation and progress they provides. The winners are chosen by a panel of education and education technology experts.
The first place winner will receive a $10,000 prize; the winner and runners-up will be awarded access to EdTech incubators and accelerators in Tel Aviv, New York, London, Barcelona and Bogotá – including office space and facilities, networking, mentoring and guidance. This year, there will also be a special regional prize of $10,000 for Latin America.

Since its inception 3 years ago, GESAwards has received applications from more than 1,000 EdTech companies from 70 countries across the globe.
Last year's winner, Kytabu, was based in Kenya.
