DUBLIN, Nov. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/z5g4t3/global_femtocell) has announced the addition of the "Global Femtocell Market 2015-2019" report to their offering.
The demand for LTE-based femtocells is driven by increased deployment of LTE networks in APAC. China Mobile's massive rollout of TD-LTE in 2014 is expected to propel the market greatly during the forecast period. In developed regions such as North America and Western Europe, with the early deployment of LTE, the adoption LTE femtocells is already very high. Femtocells provide faster transmission of voice and data signals and decrease network traffic.
According to the report, the increased demand for LTE femtocells and increased use of VoWi-Fi and VoLTE will drive the market during the forecast period. Network operators focus more on launching LTE-based femtocells as they provide more ARPU compared to 3G and W-CDMA femtocells. An enterprise femtocell can easily handle 16 concurrent calls and transmit approximately 100 mW RF power level that can be used among 300-400 people.
Further, the report states that advances in technology pose a major threat to the industry. Telecommunication operators are rapidly adopting advanced technologies, such as LTE and WiMax, to provide data and voice services at high speed and low cost. This will effect 2G and 3G femtocell providers as it will reduce adoption of 2G and 3G equipment which will eventually need to be replaced with 4G equipment.
The report forecasts the global femtocell market to grow at a CAGR of 17.70% over the period 2015-2019.
