GlobalMusic4 Life Empowers Consumers to Become Leaders of Their Healthcare Teams - Announces Two New "Mini Medical School" EBooks and Online, Self-paced Healthcare Curriculum
NEW YORK, June 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- GlobalMusic4 Life (GM4L) has launched an online healthcare curriculum and two new eBooks as part of its campaign to give everyone the knowledge and skills to lead longer, healthier lives. Founded by Critical Care Specialist Dr. Kiki Hurt, GM4L empowers people with information about their most important asset – their health and wellbeing. All of the organization's eBooks include an advance directive in which consumers can record their medical treatment wishes in the event they can't communicate.
Dr. Hurt began life in a small farm town in Tennessee with only limited opportunities, but she has made the most of them. Driven by a passion for helping others, she completed college and then medical school. Today, she envisions GlobalMusic4 Life as her chance to inspire and educate people of all ages and backgrounds.
"I've spent my career teaching people about health and wellness," says Dr. Hurt. "I created GlobalMusic4 Life to bring this message to people using popular entertainment media – music videos, games, cartoons and books. A longer, healthier, more productive life means more quality time spent with family and friends, being present for important events, and no regrets about 'bucket list' items that remain unfinished."
GlobalMusic4 Life releases new content on a regular basis. Consumers can purchase products individually or enjoy unlimited access for $10 per month. Recently, GM4L added two more healthcare eBooks to its "Mini Medical School." The aim of these publications is to give consumers a blueprint to help manage and promote good health.
Book two in the Mini Medical School series is entitled "Save Your Own Life;" a video trailer is available here. The book explores how the body works and when to seek medical attention in language that anyone can understand. Dr. Hurt believes that knowing how one's body works and what various symptoms might mean are important skills, especially in the case of medical emergencies. In addition to the advance directive that's included in every GM4L eBook, "Save Your Own Life" also includes editable charts to record vital medical information. Customers will need a PDF editor to write and edit in the eBook.
Co-authored by Midwife Lorna Johnson, "Mother & Baby: The Circle of Life" is the third entry in the Mini Medical School series. The book examines the problem of unplanned teen pregnancy. Developing nations in particular face big obstacles in educating their populations on human reproduction. "Mother & Baby" presents clear, straightforward family planning advice, such as how contraceptives work and the risks of early pregnancy. In the developing work, pregnancy is a leading cause of mortality in adolescent girls.
The recently launched healthcare curriculum from GlobalMusic4 Life is designed to support the organization's overall mission of helping patients become more informed. The individual, self-paced courses cover the most prevalent – and preventable – diseases and other health and wellness issues facing young people today, followed by short quizzes. Topics include obesity, lactose intolerance, depression and cancer, among others. The first 100 people to sign up for the curriculum will also receive a $25 Amazon gift card.
GlobalMusic4 Life depends on charitable donations to continue its global mission. The organization also applauds the work of other healthcare-focused groups such as the National Cancer Institute, WebMD and MedlinePlus.
