GlobalSign and Technology Partners Demonstrate IoT Security Solutions at RSA Conference 2017

Infineon Technologies – Identity: The Foundation for IoT Security

• Presenter: Steve Hanna, Senior Principal, Infineon Technologies
• Topic Description: To solve the problem of IoT security, strong identity is essential. IoT devices, services, and users must be able to identify each other to communicate securely, block attackers, and safely distribute software updates. For years, the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) has been known as the gold standard of security and for good reason. This talk will discuss how the TPM can be used to establish Strong Device Identity and how recent developments have eased the burden of TPM deployment, both for IT and for embedded systems (IoT).

Allegro Software – Medical Device Security, A Defense in Depth Perspective using PKI

• Topic Description: Hospitals are prime targets for hackers who see internet-connected healthcare equipment as low-hanging fruit for stealing medical records and other sensitive information. While hospitals are well-equipped for saving lives, they are ill-equipped for beating back cyber-attacks. This presentation will show how device manufacturers targeting the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) can easily adopt and deploy PKI technology to significantly reduce the risk of device-related data breaches in healthcare environments.

Intrinsic-ID – Strong Device Identities Through SRAM PUF-based Certificates

• Topic Description: The need to address security, at both cyber and physical levels, especially in this day and age, is of universal concern. The Industrial Internet Consortium Security Claims Evaluation Testbed provides an open and highly configurable platform to evaluate participants' security claims relative to best practices. Discussions will include an implementation methodology showcasing trustworthiness through establishment of strong device identity provided by secure certification. An overview of the central hub of the testbed, a highly configurable intelligent gateway from System On Chip Engineering, (SOCe) based on a Zynq-based SOM will also be provided. Security capabilities will be described at the device, system, and application level along with the extensive ecosystem surrounding the testbed.
