Glori Energy to Keynote Industry Conference on Biology in Oil Systems in Stavanger, Norway
HOUSTON, June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Glori Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: GLRI), an energy technology and oil production company focused on enhanced oil recovery using its proprietary AERO™ System, announced that Dr. Brian Clement, Vice President-Technology, will deliver a keynote talk on Wednesday, June 3 at the 5th International Symposium on Applied Microbiology and Molecular Biology in Oil Systems in Stavanger, Norway.
The presentation, entitled "Enhancing Oil Recovery in Waterflooded Oil Fields with a Commercial, Microbial Process," showcases data from several field projects in the U.S., Canada and the North Sea and demonstrates the impact of biology on oil reservoirs. Microbiology has proven to be a powerful agent in improving the economics of oil production and optimizing resource recovery by increasing total recoverable reserves by more than 10% while simultaneously decreasing water usage by an order of magnitude throughout the life of the field.
"Glori is very excited to share its proven AERO field results in Stavanger that demonstrate increased production, lower lifting costs and extended economic life for existing oil fields," said Dr. Michael Pavia, Glori Energy Chief Technology Officer. "We consider this conference to be an important forum to introduce our Residual Oil Flow (ROF™) Model with both academic and industry scientists. The ROF Model describes the novel recovery mechanism observed in AERO projects, and we believe it will ultimately change how the industry views the use of biology for enhanced oil recovery."
Glori's presentation will be available the day of the talk in the Investor Relations section of the Company's website at www.glorienergy.com under Events & Presentations.
The Stavanger conference is the largest event on microbiology and molecular biology in the oil and gas industry with a focus on the application of emerging microbial and molecular tools to help resolve challenges faced by the industry. ABOUT GLORI ENERGY INC.
Glori Energy is a Houston-based energy technology and oil production company that deploys its proprietary AERO technology to increase the amount of oil that can be produced from conventional oil fields. Glori owns and operates oil fields onshore U.S. and additionally provides its technology as a service to E&P companies globally. Only one-third of all oil discovered in a typical reservoir is recoverable using conventional technologies; the rest remains trapped in the rock. Glori's proprietary AERO System recovers residual oil by stimulating a reservoir's native microorganisms to sustainably increase the ultimate recovery at a low cost.
