Gloria Janata Named President and Senior Partner of TogoRun Kathy Hyett Takes on Role as Chairwoman
NEW YORK, Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TogoRun, a Fleishman-Hillard company, has named Gloria Janata president and senior partner. Kathy Hyett, the former president of the award-winning global healthcare communications agency, has been elevated to the role of chairwoman.
Janata will focus on expanding the strategic vision for the firm, including key growth areas such as health technology, consumer health, wellness and beauty. The TogoRun leadership team will report to Janata, and she will have responsibility for operations across the global network. She will report to Robert Dowling, president of Fleishman-Hillard's U.S. East region.
"We are very excited to have Gloria join the all-star TogoRun team," said Dowling. "Her outstanding leadership skills and deep experience in the growing consumer health, wellness and beauty categories – as well as her diverse background in advocacy, public affairs, issues management, CSR, digital media and pharmaceutical brand marketing – will add new perspective, strategic insights and breadth to the firm."
"Gloria and Kathy make a great team," Dowling added. "TogoRun is poised for continued – and accelerated – growth."
Janata joins TogoRun from Cohn & Wolfe, where she was executive vice president and managing director of client strategy and services and global head of health, wellness and beauty. Previously, she spent more than 15 years at Chandler Chicco Companies, where her leadership roles included the first head of Biosector2 and co-managing director of Chandler Chicco Agency's NY office. She also led the firm's largest and longest-standing global accounts, including Bayer Biologicals and Allergan, and worked on leading pharmaceutical brands such as Allergan's BOTOX® and LATISSE®, Pfizer's Celebrex® and Zoloft® and Amgen's Aranesp®. In these roles, she led teams responsible for winning more than 200 industry awards.
Janata's 25 years of healthcare experience include serving as senior vice president of the Children's Health Fund (CHF), which helped establish the Child Health Insurance Program and supported national antismoking initiatives. She continues to serve CHF as a founding member of its corporate council and longstanding member of its advisory board. She is a licensed attorney and has experience in the public sector and on Capitol Hill, working at such firms as the Close Up Foundation, Hill & Knowlton and APCO. She is a cum laude graduate of Fordham University and received her Juris Doctorate from the Washington College of Law at American University.
"TogoRun is truly unique in the industry, as it operates as a finely tuned health and wellness boutique agency offering clients the most experienced marketing communications, advocacy relations and public affairs talent across the Americas, EMEA and APAC markets," said Janata. "We understand the complexities facing our clients in today's changing environment and relish the opportunity to help solve the toughest challenges."
"More than 80 percent of our work is global and fully integrated across multiple disciplines and markets, and half of our 50-plus staff is bilingual," Janata added. "Client satisfaction rates are off the charts, and the internal culture is both entrepreneurial and mission-based, which can be attributed to Kathy's outstanding leadership. I'm thrilled to be joining the TogoRun team as we continue our mission to make the world a healthier place and give clients the best agency experience they've ever had."
Hyett Named Chairwoman
Hyett, who has served as the firm's president since it was established, assumes the role of chairwoman of TogoRun. She will work closely with Janata and the rest of the leadership team to set the strategic direction. Hyett will also continue to counsel clients, mentor team members and participate in industry thought-leadership events.
"Kathy has been the driving force behind TogoRun and has helped make it the vibrant and growing global firm it is today," said Dowling. "Her partnership with Gloria will ensure continued growth and success. Kathy is one of our industry's most celebrated leaders, and her track record of success extends from Fleishman-Hillard to her time building TogoRun."
