NEW YORK, Dec. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Golden Seeds led a $1,075,000 round of financing for New York based Style for Hire that closed on December 1st. Style for Hire is a national network of trained and certified personal stylists, who provide in-home wardrobe advice and shopping assistance to clients. The capital will be used to accelerate a national launch, and expansion of the stylist, partner and client bases.
"We're building an army of veteran stylists, each of whom has been assessed by me -- and our team -- and trained in our methodology. We believe that style should be accessible and affordable, but most of all, it should be fun," said Style for Hire co-founder Stacy London, who is also co-host of TLC's What Not To Wear. "We offer a terrific value proposition for our stylists and their clients, as well as for our retail partners," said Cindy McLaughlin, co-founder and CEO.
"Most compelling is the national network for stylists. Instead of working alone, an independent stylist can work in a collaborative network where sharing and learning is for mutual benefit," said Daphne Kis, Managing Director, who now sits on the company's board. "Since its initial launch last fall, Style for Hire has grown tenfold in more than 15 states. Stylists have booked hundreds of clients, with nearly 50% of those returning to book additional appointments," added Barbarba Raho, Managing Director, who co-led the investment with Kis.
