Goodman Networks Concludes Successful Pro Football Championship DAS Effort
Goodman's Professional Services team led program management, testing for multi-carrier, multi-venue wireless network coverage and capacity enhancement
PLANO, Texas, March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For the more than 70,000 fans in attendance at the 2015 professional football championship game in Phoenix, Ariz., the ability to share their epic experience using mobile devices was an essential part of enjoying the game live and in person. Goodman Networks Inc., a leader in the design, engineering, construction, deployment, integration and maintenance of converging wireless networks, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion to its efforts to enhance the fan experience through wireless connectivity at the game.
In recent years, professional sports leagues have placed a growing emphasis on delivering a robust, in-stadium fan experience, including wireless connectivity. In Phoenix, Goodman Networks worked with the four largest U.S. wireless network operators to plan and install networks providing sufficient capacity and speed to meet user demand for mobile bandwidth at several venues.
Leading up to this year's big game, Goodman provided program management leadership, schedule coordination and performance verification testing for network enhancement solutions at the stadium, practice facilities, convention center, arena, and various hotels and outdoor areas where throngs of media and fans in town for the game were expected to congregate.
"There is no better example of the value Goodman brings to cutting-edge wireless networks," said Cari Shyiak, Goodman Networks' President of Professional Services. "We helped the carriers ensure the best possible experience for a multitude of technology-savvy subscribers at one of the world's highest-profile sporting events, and everything went off without a hitch."
Goodman Networks has supported professional football's in-building wireless needs since 2010. This year marks the fourth consecutive championship game for which Goodman has provided wireless network enhancement support with device connection and data transfer volumes across all carriers increasing by at least 100 percent, year over year.
"We are honored to be a valued technology partner to the nation's premier professional sports organization," Shyiak said. "This relationship is indicative of the expertise we offer enterprises, network operators, and neutral host providers striving to meet high customer expectations amid rapid growth across the wireless ecosystem – in devices, applications, and traffic."
