LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bruce Givner, partner at the Law Offices of Givner & Kaye, has been appointed to the California Board of Optometry by Governor Jerry Brown. The California State Board of Optometry serves the public and optometrists by promoting and enforcing laws and regulations that protect the health and safety of California consumers.
Givner, 62, of Los Angeles, has been practicing tax law for more than three decades, specializing in income tax planning, estate tax planning, sophisticated retirement plans, asset protection planning, charitable planning, capital gain planning, tax litigation, and the representation of high net worth and high income families, as well as individuals and their closely held corporations. He founded his law firm in 1994; Owen Kaye joined the firm in 1996 and was named partner in 2009 when the firm name changed to Givner & Kaye.
Givner earned a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University Law School and a Master of Laws degree from New York University School of Law. He received a B.A. degree in History from UCLA.
Givner has served as a board member for the L.A. and San Fernando Valley chapters of the Arthritis Foundation, the L.A. Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, City of Hope, Guardians of the Jewish Homes for the Aging and the UCLA Alumni Association. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association.
