Governor Rendell Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff for National Day of Service and Remembrance for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism
HARRISBURG, Pa., April 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- At the direction of Governor Edward G. Rendell, all United States and Pennsylvania Flags on all state facilities are being flown at half-staff today, Monday, April 19, in recognition of the National Day of Service and Remembrance for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism.
Flags shall remain at half-staff through sunset.
The national observance, proclaimed by President Barack Obama, honors victims of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and the 2001 terrorist attacks. It also recognizes the emergency responders and citizens who helped the victims and their families.
