Grades Of Green's VERTE Event To Honor The Murads And The Roths For Environmental Achievement
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Grades of Green, an environmental education nonprofit, is pleased to announce this year's Environmental Advocacy Honorees: "The Biggest Loser" creator and producer JD Roth and longtime Grades of Green volunteer Christine Roth; and Dr. Howard Murad and his daughter Hilarie Murad on behalf of The Murad Family Foundation. The honorees will be recognized Friday, May 29 at VERTE, Grades of Green's annual green evening that raises awareness and funds to make environmental protection second-nature in young minds. VERTE will take place at the MBS Media Campus, a leading green studio, featuring innovative plant-based cuisine and a live musical performance by Shawn Mullins. Lakers radio voice, John Ireland, will Emcee the event and Jillian Michaels, "The Biggest Loser" personal trainer, will introduce the Roths.
"We admire how Grades of Green's VERTE 2015 honorees are creating community-wide environmental change that starts with students," said Kim Lewand Martin, Co-Founder of Grades of Green.
In addition to being zero-waste, thanks to composting services offered by Waste Management, VERTE will also feature a plant-based menu to promote environmental protection. By eliminating meat from the menu, VERTE will cut roughly 2 tons of methane emissions.
