GRAND-AM Fans Go Mobile With New Apps GRAND-AM Partners With XOS Digital Network To Complement Website
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Sept. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- GRAND-AM Road Racing today announced the roll out of official GRAND-AM mobile and tablet applications. Partnering with XOS Digital, Inc. – a global provider of sports video technology – the GRAND-AM apps feature digital video capabilities to foster greater fan interaction, complementing the redesigned GRAND-AM.com website that was launched in April.
"By partnering with XOS Digital, we're empowered to provide unparalleled video quality for busy fans on the go," said Ed Bennett, GRAND-AM president and CEO. "Additionally, our new mobile app is a great complement to our revamped website, and provides fans with a compelling interactive experience regardless of their location."
Initially available on iPhone, iPad and Android devices, the GRAND-AM mobile apps include the following features:
- Breaking news
- Schedules and standings
- Drivers and teams
- Access to GRAND-AM TV
- Live event timing and scoring
In addition, fans can now watch race highlight videos after each event the same day as the original SPEED broadcast directly from their mobile phones, each featuring graphics and commentary. Along with race highlights, fans can check out segments such as "Tech Talk," "Point of View," and "Team Profiles." Plus, the addition of the new GRAND-AM TV feature includes all race broadcasts for both the Rolex Sports Car Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge commercial–free, available three days after the original broadcast on SPEED.
"XOS is thrilled to work within the motorsports industry, and especially with GRAND-AM," said XOS Digital CEO Chris McCleary. "We're pleased to provide a streamlined video delivery process, making race content available to more fans across the globe. Now, fans of the Rolex 24 At Daytona can watch the entire race broadcast from anywhere, virtually uninterrupted."
The redesigned GRAND-AM.com provides increased OnDemand access to video and race archive content. In addition, the new site enables visitors to experience live radio streaming broadcasts on race day along with live timing and scoring statistics. Users also can interact with the content via social networking sites linked directly on the GRAND-AM home page, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The new site serves the entire industry — fans, teams, tracks and sponsors.
