Grand Rapids Energy Customers Can Control Their Natural Gas Costs with a Fixed Price Plan
LANSING, Mich., Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Grand Rapids Energy is now serving Michigan customers participating in the Gas Customer Choice Program through DTE Gas Company or Consumers Energy. Current natural gas price plans include a 12-month fixed price plan or a variable price plan.
Switching to Grand Rapids Energy is easy and seamless with no interruption in natural gas service. The local utility will continue to deliver the gas, read the meter, respond to service calls and invoice the customer. All that changes is that Grand Rapids Energy will become the alternative gas supplier, the customer can choose his or her own price plan, and our name will appear on the customer's bill next to the gas supply charge.
The U.S. Department of Energy has forecasted rising natural gas prices this winter, which may result in Michigan households paying more to heat their homes. With Grand Rapids Energy, customers can lock in a low, fixed rate to prevent their natural gas price from increasing for 12 months!
Fixed rates are not offered by the utilities. Utilities only offer a variable rate that can change monthly. With Grand Rapids Energy, you have a choice of pricing options including a fixed price offering.
*Grand Rapids Energy currently available price offers:
DTE
- 12-Month Fixed $0.469 per Ccf
- Variable $0.399 per Ccf
Consumers
- 12-Month Fixed $4.690 per Mcf
- Variable $3.990 per Mcf
* Offers available only for new residential customers. 12-Month Fixed Plan price offer ends on the first to occur of (i) 11/14/13 and (ii) Grand Rapids Energy's enrollment of 100 qualified residential customers in either the DTE Gas Company or Consumers Energy service territory. Variable Plan offered rate available through 11/14/13; thereafter, Variable Plan standard rate charged may change or remain the same each month based on market conditions.
Natural gas deregulation gives consumers the ability to choose a natural gas supplier other than their traditional utility company. Grand Rapids Energy is a licensed alternative gas supplier that customers may select for their natural gas needs in Michigan. Should a customer choose Grand Rapids Energy as their alternative gas supplier, their local utility company will still maintain the distribution system that delivers gas to customers.
