Grand Rounds Expands Executive Team with Hire of Chief Medical Officer
Ami Parekh to join from UCSF in newly created role
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Grand Rounds, a new kind of healthcare company headquartered in San Francisco, today announced that Ami Parekh, M.D. has joined the company as Chief Medical Officer. Parekh comes from University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) where she served as the Chief Medical Officer of Population Health and Clinical Integration. In her newly created role as Chief Medical Officer at Grand Rounds, Parekh will help accelerate the company's leadership in employee health navigation. Parekh will play a major role in supporting the company's provider strategy while continuing the company's track record of putting patients first. Parekh will also be directly involved in patient cases at Grand Rounds.

Prior to joining Grand Rounds, in her role leading UCSF Health's Office of Population Health and Accountable Care, Parekh partnered with payers, providers and across the UCSF Health system to succeed in alternative payment models and develop new care models to better serve patients. As a clinician, Parekh saw patients both in hospital and ambulatory settings and was actively involved in resident and medical student education. Parekh has a Bachelor of Arts in political science and biology from Williams College and received her Medical Doctorate from Yale University School of Medicine. She also holds a Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School.
