Grant Opportunity Announced for Groundbreaking "Million Student Study" on Math Achievement
Grant Winners will receive 2 school licenses for the price of one, or 40% off a single license, as well as inclusion in large-scale RCT
NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Building on the success of Round 1, JRL Enterprises announced today a second round of grant opportunities for participation in the "Million Student Study" on math achievement. Grant winners will receive either two I CAN Learn® Program school licenses for the price of one, or 40% off a single license. Awardees will participate in a three-year study that will evaluate student performance on End of Course tests and/or states' high-stakes AYP tests.
This ongoing research project is being conducted by Dr. Geoffrey Borman of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. "Dr. Borman is a Principal Standing Panel Member of the Education Systems and Broad Reform Research Review Panel of the U.S. Department of Education," says John Arnold, Vice-President of Sales for JRL Enterprises, Inc. "His participation will ensure that this study is conducted to the very highest of academic and scientific standards."
The study will evaluate the effects of the I CAN Learn® Program on student math achievement. The grant will provide either two school licenses for the price of one, or 40% off a single license. This represents considerable savings on a math solution that has already been proven to be "cost-effective" in a study by researchers from Princeton University. Already used in over 400 schools nationwide, the I CAN Learn® Program has over 18 years of scientifically-based research proving its success at raising students' high-stakes test scores.
In order to be eligible, grant applications are due by 4:00 PM CST Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Grant winners will be announced by Friday, November 30, 2012. Due to the requirements of the RCT, participating schools and districts must agree to start implementation by January 31, 2013.
