Great American Cookies® Invites All to "Cookie Cake for a Cure" Super Cookie Cake Party
Houston Stores Have Raised $40,000+ To Date for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
HOUSTON, Oct. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
What: Houston Great American Cookies® locations are working to raise money, and awareness, for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) by hosting a "Cookie Cake for a Cure" Super Cookie Cake party at Houston's Memorial City Mall.
On October 29th, mall visitors are invited to make a donation and enjoy a slice of a special commemorative Super Cookie Cake created just for this event. The finished 72 square-foot Cookie Cake will consist of two dozen individual Cookie Cakes combined to display the LLS logo and will serve around 1,200 people.
So far this year, Great American Cookies has raised more than $40,000 through similar Super Cookie Cake events at Almeda Mall; The Shops at Houston Center; Baybrook Mall; Brazos Mall in Lake Jackson; San Jacinto Mall in Baytown; and Prairie View A&M University, as well as in-store fundraising and corporate and employee participation in the Light The Night Walk. Great American Cookies stores in the Houston area are locally owned and operated by Houston master franchisee Cookie Associates.

Why: Great American Cookies stores in the Houston area have supported the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) for more than 20 years by participating in the Light The Night walk, telethons, Super Cookie Cake events and other fundraising programs. The Light The Night Walk is the Society's national fundraising event designed to help the LLS support blood cancer research, assist those battling blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma, provide education and counseling to patients and their families and honor those who have battled blood cancer.
