Great Southern Craft Beer Competition Calls For Homebrewer Entries
Publik Draft House Hosts Second Annual Homebrew Competition After Booming 2014 Success
ATLANTA, Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the success of its inaugural Great Southern Craft Beer Competition, Publik Draft House (P.D.H.) officially calls for entries for the 2015 homebrew competition. Southeastern homebrewers are invited to submit original beers beginning January 22. A panel of beer experts will judge the entries, and three finalists will be selected to have their beer showcased at the 2015 Great Southern Craft Beer Party, taking place Saturday, July 18 at Red Brick Brewing Co. At the party, attendees will have the power to determine the overall winner based on a blind taste test.
"The 2014 homebrew competition was hugely successful and met with overwhelming support from our local community and craft beer enthusiasts," says P.D.H. co-owner and GSBC organizer Eddie Johnson. "After receiving more than 140 entries and awarding the grand prize to homebrewer Taylor Bareford and his winning Chili Chocolate Stout last year, we knew we would continue the competition. The blind taste test this year changes the game entirely, allowing the homebrewing community to truly be involved in selecting the winning brew."
How to Enter the Competition
The 2015 Great Southern Craft Beer Competition entry period begins January 22 and runs through April 30, 2015. Contestants must pay a $10 fee per beer entry and may submit up to three entries. Each entry must include three bottles of the specialty home brew and be delivered to P.D.H. at 654 Peachtree Street in Atlanta by April 30. The winner will take home a suite of grand prizes, including $1,000 and beer distribution at P.D.H.
