KAWANISHI-CITY, Japan, March 4, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Nano Cellulose, Cellulose nanofiber (CNF) is said to be a next-generation material. It is derived from natural biomass resources such as trees and plants, therefore, CNF is recyclable and biodegradable. Because its raw material is an abundant natural resource, it is obtainable at low cost. Therefore, CNF is an excellent green, next-generation nanomaterial. The high aspect ratio of CNF originates from its width (4–20 nm) and its length (several micrometers). It weighs approximately one-fifth that of steel, but it is more than five times stronger. CNF has low thermal expansion coefficient, comparable to that of glass fiber, although its elasticity modulus is higher than that of glass fiber, making it a hard, strong, and robust material.

Now, Dr. Ryohei Mori at Green Science Alliance Co., Ltd. developed nano cellulose dispersion in various type of vegetable oil such as olive oil. They had developed this time nano dispersion in olive oil, sesame oil, castor oil, soybean oil. Nano cellulose dispersion in water, and organic solvent are already in the market, and they also supply those products. In addition, there have been an example that nano cellulose can be applied as emulsifier for vegetable oil.

However, as far as they know, nano cellulose dispersion in vegetable oil have not been commercialized yet in the world. They can make nano cellulose dispersion in most kinds of vegetable oils with similar procedure.

The composition of nano cellulose in vegetable oil is composed of 100 % nature biomass, no petroleum has been used and is very environmentally friendly. Green Science Alliance starts supplying samples and they will keep developing to apply their vegetable oil nano cellulose products for cosmetics, paints, color products, medical application, dispersion stabilizer, emulsifier, electronic materials etc.
