AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On October 10, 2013, GreenWorld Restoration received a fully executed contract from the Texas General Land Office for Modular and Alternative Housing. The Texas General Land Office (GLO) has received allocations from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) totaling $3.2 billion for disaster reconstruction related to Hurricanes Ike and Dolly, and the Texas wildfires. Approximately 50% of these funds are allocated to rebuilding 12,000 homes. Under this project, the GLO has been tasked with creating a highly qualified pool of contractors to rebuild single family homes. GreenWorld Restoration is one of the selected vendors due to their innovative materials and solutions.
GreenWorld Restoration has presented the GLO with an innovative solution for disaster reconstruction through use of stronger more resilient building materials enabling families to return to a much safer home. GreenWorld's sustainable building materials are good for the environment and more resilient to future catastrophic events. The company's President and CEO, Michael Torres, explains, "GreenWorld's model is designed to help local governments incorporate a readiness program that is proactive instead of reactive. By using materials that are stronger, more resilient and more ecologically sound, we equip communities with the tools they need to maintain a greater level of safety and security. Why rebuild like the 2nd little pig, who built his house out of wood sticks, if we want to have safer more resilient structures and communities?"
GreenWorld's mission of Restoring Homes, Hope, and Humanity is reinforced through its Fortress™ Product Line and Building Systems Platform™. GreenWorld's Fortress™ product line is designed to provide resiliency, affordability, and sustainability for residential and commercial construction projects. TheFortress product line has three product series; Innovator™, Eco-Classic™, and Fortress Premier™. The Innovator™ Series incorporates a metal stick framed interlocking wall system replacing traditional wood stick framing, providing a 2.5X increase in structural rigidity at the same price or less than wood stick framing. The Eco-Classic™ Series is a light weight concrete panel for walls, flooring, and roofs designed and tested to withstand 350 mph wind loads utilizing 90% less energy to fabricate the materials. The Fortress Premier™ Series integrates both the Innovator™ Series and the Eco-Classic™ Series into one super strong double wall system.
