Greig Joins Third Coast Underwriters as Senior Claims Examiner in Gulf Region
CHICAGO, July 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Third Coast Underwriters, a specialty markets operation that offers workers compensation insurance for underserved markets that have complex risks, announces the appointment of Gordon Greig as senior claims examiner for the Gulf Region.
Greig is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the state of Louisiana, and the United States Eastern and Western District Courts of Louisiana. His practice over the past six years has included the Louisiana State Workers Compensation Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act (LHWCA), the Jones Act, subrogation, general tort and premises liability. Greig's knowledge and experience in these key areas provides the Third Coast claims department with a platform for its current expansion into the Gulf region. Greig earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law and hold certificates in International Law, Common Law and Civil Law.
Third Coast recently announced it is expanding its workers compensation offerings to include oil & gas and United States Longshore and Harbor Workers (USL&H) operations. The new operation in the Gulf region will serve these industries as well as the full range of specialty workers compensation products offered in the original Midwest office.
"Gordon brings litigation experience and industry specific expertise in the areas of oil and gas and USL&H operations, making him the perfect fit for this role," Marguerite Dixen, president of Third Coast Underwriters, said. "I am thrilled to have him join our team."
Third Coast specializes in traditionally hard-to-insure, tough workers compensation risks that require customized solutions to their complex insurance needs. Third Coast's model provides them with the ability to move quickly and focus on the specific requirements these classes demand in order to obtain the best outcomes for policyholders.
Third Coast Underwriters is backed by Accident Fund Holdings, Inc., which is collectively, through its wholly owned workers compensation insurance subsidiaries, the nation's 9th largest workers compensation insurer. For more information about Accident Fund Holdings, visit www.afhi.com.
