Groundbreaking Book on Social Entrepreneurship in Education Published by Rowman & Littlefield Education
BOSTON, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael R. Sandler, a lifelong entrepreneur and founder and Chairman Emeritus of Eduventures, Inc., is pleased to announce the release of his new book, Social Entrepreneurship in Education: Private Ventures for the Public Good. This innovative book is part of the Rowman & Littlefield Education Series New Frontiers in Education, and is edited by Dr. Frederick M. Hess, Director of Education Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute.
"Social Entrepreneurship in Education: Private Ventures for the Public Good represents the culmination of more than two decades of experience at the intersection of business, government and education," said Sandler, who coined the term "education industry" and worked side-by-side with a multitude of education innovators, including Boston University president emeritus John Silber and former CEO of Xerox and former deputy secretary of the United States Department of Education, David T. Kearns.
"This book is a must-read for any entrepreneur, educator, or business person interested in knowing what does and doesn't work in the education industry," said Kearns. "It is a great barometer for the past, present and future of education."
Social Entrepreneurship in Education is fundamental for understanding the ins and outs of utilizing social entrepreneurship to improve education for American students. "I believe that the principles of entrepreneurship will help the United States regain its position as the leader in education," said Sandler, who soon will be re-launching the Education Industry Group (EIG), an advisory firm and network supporting innovation and social entrepreneurship in education. "I hope that this book will assist tomorrow's education entrepreneurs in learning from the challenges of the past to meet one of society's greatest priorities -- improving education for America's youth."
