Group O Appoints Alfred Ramirez, Vice President of Government Relations and Diversity
A nationally recognized consultant and diversity strategist, Ramirez will enhance the company's business development efforts and strategic partnership opportunities.
MILAN, Ill., Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Group O, the optimization company that specializes in marketing operations, supply-chain and packaging solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Alfred Ramirez to its executive leadership team as vice president of government relations and diversity. In this role, Mr. Ramirez will be responsible for identifying and developing key initiatives, relationships and opportunities across government, diversity and enterprise environments that align to and deliver on the company's business strategy and growth goals. He will be a key corporate leader, managing and executing the programs and tactics to support existing and new strategic account development. Mr. Ramirez will be based out of Group O corporate headquarters in Milan, Illinois.
Mr. Ramirez brings a broad range of high-profile experience leading diversity and inclusion strategies, recruitment and retention plans, and executive and organizational leadership development. In the Clinton Administration, he served as a special assistant to the president as associate director in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel; senior advisor at the Corporation for National Service; and executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans at the U.S. Department of Education. Mr. Ramirez began his career as faculty adviser and assistant director of admissions and minority recruitment for Columbia University. He was special assistant to former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros and a corporate recruiter and human resource specialist at Transamerica. Most recently, Mr. Ramirez served as president of the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

He currently serves on the boards of Iowa Public Television, the national Community Training and Assistance Center (CTAC), and the Johns Hopkins University Leadership Management Program. He is also a former member of the Iowa Commission of Latino Affairs and the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN). Originally from East Los Angeles, California, he resides in Rock Island, Illinois.
