HackSurfer Announces New Partnership With Malformity Labs
HackSurfer's API Data Endpoints to Be Integrated with Capabilities of Maltego with Malformity Labs' Transform Pack
GLENELG, Md., Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- HackSurfer, LLC, an independent cybercrime data and analytics social collaboration network, announced that it has entered into a partnership with Malformity Labs, LLC, a company that builds value-added solutions on top of Paterva's Maltego, an open source intelligence and forensics application.
Malformity Labs has developed custom plug-ins that allow for data from HackSurfer's Application-Programming Interface (API) endpoints to be integrated with the capabilities of Maltego. An API is a software-to-software interface for accessing a Web-based software application or Web tool. HackSurfer's APIs enable subscribers to embed customized cybercrime data and analytics onto their proprietary applications.
"HackSurfer's partnership with Malformity Labs adds the powerful capabilities of Maltego to our APIs, enabling clients to quickly identify unknown relationships, discover related threats or infrastructure, and gather as much context as possible," said Jason Polancich, Founder and Chief Enabler of HackSurfer. "This will further enhance the utility of our APIs, which allow clients to build their own custom applications, integrate our data with their web pages and dashboards, or just do custom analysis in their own databases."
Subscribing to one of HackSurfer's APIs (www.hacksurfer.com/api) provides a set of programming instructions and standards that enables subscribers to add to their own applications a range of customized cybercrime data, including cybercrime events, industry risk scores, industry target summaries and top trending tags.
"Malformity Labs simplifies the jobs of analysts, researchers and responders by utilizing the power of link analysis and the convenience of Maltego by Paterva," said Keith Gilbert, Founder of Malformity Labs. "We look forward to working with HackSurfer in providing unique access to cybercrime data, enabling their clients to gain a better awareness of the threats targeting businesses and industries."
Introductory pricing for the Basic HackSurfer API plan is $499 per month. The Basic Plus HackSurfer API plan, offered for a limited time at $799 per month, adds additional features, including continuously updated information on open source and other software cyber vulnerabilities, and HackSurfer's proprietary Cyberfact event model for succinct descriptions of cybercrime events.
HackSurfer is the first cyberdefense platform to leverage the power of social collaboration to provide businesses with actionable information about specific threats that can affect their bottom lines, reputations, brands and markets. Monitoring millions of web and social media sources for cybercrime data, the company harvests, analyzes and summarizes this information to create a culture of proactive collaboration that protects businesses from current and future threats.
In addition to the company's APIs, HackSurfer's products and services include: monthly in-depth cybercrime activity Reports; custom corporate solutions; daily alerts; surfboard social postings; sector analyses and articles; updates on trends, vulnerabilities and threats; WatchList emails; brand awareness and focused ads and ShareScoreTM profiles.
